Private drafts stay private even after publishing
If one of our authors makes a private draft and sends it for approval for publishing, it remains private even after approving.
The only workaround I can find is to create a new page from scratch, copy the content across and delete the private draft.
Surely this isn't how it's meant to work? Am I doing something wrong or is something broken?
We are using approval flow.

gavincompton- if you look at the permissions for your site pages library, you'll find that the page that was created as a private draft probably has unique permissions. If you re-inherit parent permissions, this should sort out any issues your users may have accessing the page

A private draft should be accessible for your employees when published.
Could you possibly navigate to the site pages library, find the news article that is published and look at the current permissions set on it?
