Is it possible to assign a person for a folder in Document Library?
I want to assign a person for a particular folder in Dcument library, I have added the column titled "Point of Contact". But when I upload a folder I am not able to assign a person. I am able to assign a person if i upload a document like word or PDF file.
Please help me to solve this problem

- Actually, it's Modern Document Sets is what I was thinking. Here is a video covering it. Using document sets, they are like folders with metadata. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DJcRCXfDUYU
- You can modify the content types for the library and add metadata support for folders as well I believe but it's been a long time since messing with it :P. If you don't have many folders going forward Michael's solution should be fine.
It is my understanding that folders by default do not accept metadata via the standard form. However, there is an easy workaround.
1. Make sure you are in a NON-GROUPED view
2. Click on "Quick Edit" in the command bar
3. Update the field you want
4. Click "Exit quick edit"
