InfoPath 2010/13 Migration not supported for "modern" experience

Hi

I've got to know that InfoPath 2010/13 will not be migrated properly (or at all) for "modern" experience lists.

See following articles:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/dev/solution-guidance/modern-experience-customizations-customize-lists-and-libraries#overview-of-customization-options

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/dev/solution-guidance/modern-experience-customizations-customize-lists-and-libraries#overview-of-customization-options

It seems to be we can migrate to "classic" experience (basically instead having a modern site, if you have a classic site, migration will work).

I'd know WHY modern experience does not work? I dint find anything other than "it is not supported as of now". Appreciate a response.

Thanks

Thanuja

  • InfoPath is supported in SPO but it's considered as a deprecated technology. Indeed end of support will end in 2026. Modern list does not support and are not going to support InfoPath...if you need rich and interactive forms with modern lists, then you have to go to PowerApps

Juan - I understood it "does not" support modern list experience only classic experience.  It looks like you infer that Microsoft wants to discourage further  design and development in InfoPath since the direction is moved to PowerApps!

      • It's not only I inferr, indeed is well known that Microsoft is recommending to go for PowerApps.
