How to migrate in-place records from SP 2013 Server to SP Online?

In my farm, many libraries have in-place records. These are not copied with the SharePoint Migration Tool when performing a migration to SharePoint online

There are hundreds of documents in dozens of libraries. Manually resetting the record status is not an option.

What is the best approach to migrate these records?
