How to hide the applied filters at document library?
Dear All,
Just found out that document library is showing applied filters for each views.
Some view shows exactly filters info as shown in 1st picture while some just showing "This view uses classic filters that you can view and edit here" as shown in 2nd picture.
If clear the filters, the screen will shows all the documents which should be not allowed to view.
Anyone have idea to hide this???

Thank you!

AlinaMitrea in short this is totally achievable with regards to preventing users from removing filters from your document library.
1) Create a custom permissions level, start with maybe making a copy of the "contribute" one, then remove permissions that allow anything to do with views, play around with removing permissions for this new level, until you get the right setup that meets your use-case.
2) For the document library, stop inheriting from parent and use unique permissions, then assign the permission level to whichever group you want to restrict with this new permission level.

Possibly just an odd behaviour yesterday but I have a view that is filtered by [Me] and I've been using the clear the filter to see other peoples items - good as admin, but bad for the general user.
Anyway, yesterday I noticed that even when I cleared the filter it didn't actually display the other items - like it retains the built in view filter regardless of the displayed filter.I'm kind of hoping that is the case.

Jlim_150 I came across this Q&A thread when trying to figure out the same issue at my work. Instead of the current "work-around" (creating a whole page dedicated to a list with list as a web part on that page), my found fix for it is by using a 2-option filter ("yes/no" choice filter in my case) but specifying the if/then as "contains" instead of "equal to" or the other similarly specific options there.
Doing so basically goes over the head of SharePoint's computing so that all you'll see at the top is: "This view uses filters that you can view and edit here." Of course, the link (in the "you can view and edit here" part of that sentence) is only accessible to those with edit rights if seen at all. (View as is a whole other level of idiocy with SharePoint... as in, "View as" no longer being an option.)
Until Microsoft fixes filtering (showing/hiding options specifically) along with bringing back "View as" option to check page view for regular users... I'll not be holding my breath but hoping it's sooner rather than later on their end.
Anyway, hope this helps.
- TheOGWarrenBrass ContributorA "workaround" is to change users permissions from that ghastly EDIT to the more normal CONTRIBUTE.

Hello everyone,
i have contacted with microsoft and it is by desing 😞 see here below the mail:
Definition:
SharePoint View filtering : view does not exist
Root cause:
Classic filters in modern library.
Resolution
"The view uses classic filters," typically appears in SharePoint when you are using a modern document library but have applied certain filter configurations that are only available in the classic experience.
SharePoint offers two main user interfaces: modern and classic. The modern experience provides a more streamlined and responsive interface, while the classic experience offers a more feature-rich and customizable interface.
In the modern document library, you have the option to apply filters to your views to narrow down the displayed documents based on specific criteria such as file type, modified date, author, etc. However, some advanced filtering options that were available in the classic experience might not be supported in the modern experience.
When you encounter the message "The view uses classic filters," it means that the current view you are using in the modern document library contains filter configurations that are not supported in the modern experience. This message serves as a reminder that those particular filters may not function as expected or may not be available in the modern interface.
If you need to use those classic filters or require advanced filtering capabilities, you have the option to switch to the classic experience in SharePoint.
- ianbennettCustom365Copper ContributorI don't believe there is a solution for this, however, as a workaround - I have added the List WebPart to a page, then disabled the menu and see all. This currently hides the new filter "feature". I'm sure at some stage this will be updated and won't be a workaround anymore.

I have just started noticing this "feature" in our SP Online lists. And has been reported by our users as an issue. Pernille-Eskebo please provide a way to disable. We don't want our users to change the filters on the views we have intentionally set up for them.
And if it's filtering by one field, it shows the internal name of the field!

Jlim_150 Well this is seriously annoying. I created this list under OG modern and made this public view for users from onset, now its telling me its a classic filter and i have no clue what parameters make it classic, for example I have a yes/no (Active) to determined it item appears. But I don't see any guidance on where to use the "new new modern filter"

RubyTuez and when u will click on that in Teams? i will getting this error on my whole tenant:
and i will do this on the SharePoint site, i will get this:
and this is on all my SharePoint sites. it is an annoying problem for the end users with full access and or Edit Rights.

Hi
After this update, I get a ViewType error. A ViewType error will occur when transitioning to the list if you compare dates with blanks in the filter conditions of the view. Anyone know the cause?

when u use in the filtering is equal and is not equal, then this message will show, also i have the following problems, when i click on edit this view and hit ok, then i have the message that the page is not exist....
i have make a ticket with Microsoft on Friday, but still no reaction.

I have the same issue. It went away a couple of weeks ago but now it came back. Microsoft should have tested every case before releasing this. It looks like they rushed it without understanding the impact it would have with existing filters that people already use. I gave feedback already. I hope this gets fixed soon. Jlim_150
