How to get the Synk button visible?

Hi,

I have a library in SharePoint Online (the classic design)  that contains some documents. For this library we have two permission groups, the a-group that have full control and the b-group that should only read and sync the documents.

All users in the b-group have been complaining that they don't see the sync link. To sync they have to click on the "Library"-tab and then in the Sync button but they wants the link.

The b-grup is a copy of the reader-group and I have removed the possibility to create and delete files. As soon I remove the create permission the sync link disappear.

How can I set the Sync-link back for the b-Group users (image 1)?

Best regards

Americo

  • Hi Americo!

Check the Version settings of the Document library. According to this article this might be the problem/solution.

Following is not supported when it comes to Sync:
"Libraries with Checkout, Required columns or metadata, or when Draft Item Security is set to either Only users who can edit or Only users who can approve items in Version Settings of the library."

Hope this is the answer your problem.

    Best regards, Magnus
