Hide New button in document library web part in SPO
I have added the default Documents document library as a web part in to page in Site Pages of SPO site. from the toolbar I need to Hide the +New part in it and keep the other items. Any options to do it. Tried removing Document content type from the Documents library but still shows +New
Since you are on Modern View, there is no way to hide the + New button from the user. Also, I am not sure if CSS tweaks would help.
However, you can remove the Add Item permission from the list permission. Follow this steps -
navigate to site setting > site permission > on ribbon select permission level > and click add permission level > then provide name and select the respective permission under List permissions category except add items

- KrunalRohit - Thanks for the response. we found a different way with document library config itself. three steps
1. document library advance setting -> manage content types
1. unselect the "Document" content type from document library - instead keep a custom content type and change the order as 1 to the new content type
2. go to document library New+ button -> Edit button -> then it will show all the items -> deselect all -> save -> button will be disappeared
