First Experiences with SharePoint Embedded – Questions About Metadata and Virus Scanning

Hi everyone,

We are currently gaining our first experiences with SharePoint Embedded and have created our setup using the Visual Studio Code extension.

While working with SharePoint Embedded, we encountered a few questions and would appreciate some guidance:

Adding Columns for Metadata

We tried adding columns via the v1.0 API but noticed that this only seems to work in the beta version. Our goal is to attach metadata to documents, such as contract numbers or creditor IDs.
What would be the best approach for achieving this? Which endpoint should we use?

Virus Scanning Behavior

We saw that Drive Items have a malware flag. Our questions:

Is the document rejected upon upload if it contains malware?

Do we receive any notification about the issue?

Is the document automatically moved to quarantine?

How can we detect that a document is infected?

Any insights or documentation references would be highly appreciated!
