External Access - Microsoft Account Creation
Hi Luke Hoffman,
What version of Word/Excel/PowerPoint client are you looking at? The latest versions of those apps use the OneDrive/SharePoint sharing dialog (common control) and so would also go through the secure link verification mode. I believe even older clients (sharing a file stored in ODB/SPO) will also use the new method though I'd have to double check. Otherwise, this looks right. Thanks!

StephenRice think he means, how the external users can access those documents once shared.

StephenRice I tried to win a pass from Bill Bear but didn't win, I get one conference a year and company FY runs July to July, so I used mine up for this year, but Ignite is on the list again next year. I'll def. be watching online :).

Deleted, we've definitely heard the MFA request as well :) And we certainly will! If you can attend SharePoint Conference North America in May, I certainly recommend it!

StephenRice yeah was just thinking there should just probably be 2 options there or a checkbox on specific people saying "Require MFA" to access. So you can just have old method or new method for accessing. But I'll stay tuned. Ya'll are doing some good stuff keep it up!

Deleted,
You're right, a more correct statement would have been: "If the user has already been invited to your organization & created an account, then they can access via those methods". This is something we are looking at improving though so stay tuned.

StephenRice been curious about that. Can you still login with Microsoft account to bypass secure link method if it's connected to the e-mail address being used? Or I assume the only way to accomplish that is through advanced permissions now and adding that person direct to permissions not using "Specific People" option?

Deleted, Luke Hoffman, Ah I see.
In that case, your list is correct. I would just add that all of the things you list as being accessible via the secure link are also available to people with MSFT accounts.
