Documents not opening in client application in Office365 document library using Chrome browser.
Few key details,
- SharePoint Office 365
- Document Library
- Document Library setting is set to 'Classic View'. Also advanced settings set to open with Client Application.
- Issue: Documents (word/excel) don't open in client application rather it opens document in online app.
- Issue exists only when I use Chrome browser and set library view setting to 'Classic View' instead of modern experience. In modern experience it works fine.
- Is it not an option to go to modern and avoid classic?
Tarundeep - we are experiencing this in our tenant as well. Multiple different sites and ONLY when the library is set to display as 'classic'. Did you ever find a solution? Or did it 'fix itself'?
