Is there any way to disable of hide the new "+ Create News Post" from the SharePoint Home? I tried looking for an option on the SharePoint Admin settings and found nothing there. This is a great feature, but how about the people who are not using it or are not ready yet to use this feature at all? Thanks!

No update? A feature like this must have the option to disable it, otherwise it allows non approved news posts being published!

Even the lowest level license (F1) now have the option to create a new post on the Sharepoint Home Page. This could open up the flood gates to non approved news posts being published. Hopefully a solution will be release to disable this feature because it's a huge miss on the Sharepoint Project team to assume all users should be able to create a news post.

Thank's for both your answers, I'm referring to this link. We don't use sitepages since our sites are classic for now. We have hundreds of site collections and most users are owners or members of these sites... maybe disabling the sitepages feature is an option?

I'm looking for a way to remove this button from the modern Sharepoint Home Page. This was recently added (the week of 1/15/2018) for all users. I need to be able to disable this option for all users.

    Unfortunately, I was still not able to determine a way to disable this option. Maybe there's a way through azure, similar to restricting O365 group creation.

You could just change the permissions on the SharePoint site is that not what you mean?
