Creating a "Landing Page" while in documents library?

Hey thank you already for those of you have been so helpful already, just another question. I have someone who is using a SharePoint site for vendors who are placing bids on a particular job. Now I know you can create a Front Page for the site, with news and such for those in the page, but he wants it so when you get a to a certain project folder when you click in it, a new Front Page/ Landing Page appears just for that folder/ group. Hopefully that makes sense? I have been looking around for solutions, but nothing arises.

Thank you again.

While not directly related to your question, when i did this type of site for a client, we used the Content Organizer to automatically route uploaded files from bidders to the appropriate storage location. We created a doc library for each vendor and had a shared docs library for the RFP docs. Keeping security robust and simple is super important.

Managed metadata term sets can be used to make tagging the documents easy and Content Types may also help to keep things organized

  • If your just navigatinginf through a doc library and want to get redirected somewhere else. Click new and use the link option at the bottom. This will put an item in the library that you can link to another page or site.
  • This sounds like Document Sets - which is a folder with its own wiki page. This is as far as I know only available in SharePoint Online document library in Classic view.
    Kind regards, John

I would also suggest Document Sets. The only drawback is that the Document Set page is still only in classic mode. So no Modern News or anything.

  • If you mean a different page for your document library this will be available soon. Using Powerapps
