Create a view based on Employee's department

Hi. I am creating some Document Libraries, and in order to avoid lots of folder, trying to use metadata to group data, and I would love if i can use User's data to filter what they see.

For example, one of the columns on the library is Department - so, I would like to create a view that will show me all the items, where my profile's department, matches the Department name on the library column. Is that even possible?

The idea is, when each user opens the document library they will see the items that belong to their departments instead of the full list of documents.

Is that even possible?
