can't access my own sharepoint

I created a sharepoint link about a year ago to store important university files to share with my friends and colleagues, but, for a few misunderstandings, my university email got disabled for a few months. when I finally got it back and worked into it again I noticed that my old sharepoint link appears to be gone, I do not have access to it anymore and to other users it appears as if the owner (so my reactivated email) removed the link and what was in there. Is there any way I could get back in and get my old files, or are they to be considered gone forever ?
