Add columns to 'site contents' library?

Is there a way to add a column to input text to the Site Contents page on SharePoint site? I want to either show the description column of the document library/list/page or add a custom column of data. Or is there at least a way to change the icon that shows for a document library? or add a tag? Thank you!
