Problems with Quick Steps in Outlook New

Sure! Here is the translation:

"I am having issues with Quick Steps in the new version of Outlook. I have recreated them, but they appear blocked or as if they cannot be executed. However, sometimes they become available in a somewhat random manner. Can someone help me?"

  • If a quick step has an Action in it that cannot be applied to the currently selected email, it will be greyed out in the Ribbon. For example, if a quick step Unpins an email, it will be greyed out unless the current email is Pinned.

absolutely agree this IS NOT SOLVED!!!  My quick steps worked for years until the last 30 days... MS changed something... for the worst!  It appears they have no idea what their users do!

My issue is clear categories.  I want to click an email and it clear categories, then tag it with a new category.  Pretty simple.  No rocketry.  Been doing that for a long time to shuffle and move things around.  Why would I want to click clear and then click again??  The whole point is to make us more efficient!!!!

Outlook is crashing AGAIN today.... about ready to actually find a new email system...

Thank you Microsoft for breaking Outlook for everyone that built email rules using the Getting Things Done philosophy.

    None of these solutions apply.

My quick step has a flag, move and mark read actions.  It is moving from a Gmail folder to an Outlook PST file in

    Microsoft® Outlook® for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2512 Build 16.0.19530.20038) 64-bit

My quick step had been working great for years before the update.  I can't switch to classic.  I am on the most recent build.  I've tried recreating my quick step and that fails.  Move to folder doesn't offer the flag option or mark as read.  It broke, pls fix.

  • In Classic Outlook, the first email is automatically selected, allowing Quick Steps commands to be readily available. However, in New Outlook, you need to manually select an email before the Quick Steps commands become accessible. This difference in functionality may explain why it seems random at times.

  • Check for Updates:

    • Go to File → Office Account → Update Options → Update Now.
    • Ensure you’re running the latest build of Outlook.

Updates often include bug fixes for features like Quick Steps.

    Verify Quick Steps Functionality

    • Switch to the Classic Version (if possible):
      • If you're using the new Outlook, you can revert to the classic version:
        • Toggle off the "Try the new Outlook" switch in the top-right corner.
        • Check if Quick Steps works as expected in the classic version.
This helps determine if the issue is specific to the new interface.

"That's correct, I removed the unpin activity within the quick step and it activated them, thanks."
