Intermittent “We can’t retrieve the calendar events right now” error in Outlook team calendars
We are receiving an increasing number of reports from users who are unable to view colleagues’ calendars in Outlook. The following error is displayed: “We can’t retrieve the calendar events right no...
Have experienced the same scenario in our setup. Exactly as you have described it. Support has been requested from Microsoft but haven't heard if they are officially recognizing as an issue or not.
Work around for my team has been to manually add the team calendars members as People calendars.
- Select a coworker's calendar under the automatically populated Team: <Manager> calendar group.
- Outlook displays: "We can't retrieve your calendar events right now. Please wait a few minutes and try again."
- Select the exact same coworker's calendar under People's calendars.
- The coworker's calendar loads successfully.
- Select the coworker again under Team: <Manager>.
- The Team calendar now loads successfully.
This workaround doesn't persist after closing and reopening outlook however so its not perfect but shows its just the Team calendar that fails to load the calendars properly.
EDIT- Have found a new workaround by ensuring no duplicated calendars are added on top of the manager calendar. Once we removed the duplicates the team calendar worked as expected.
