Additional Contacts in "New Contacts", not visible in Classic
I'm struggling to work with Contacts in New Outlook, particularly using powershell and Graph API to add/remove contacts. That's a matter for a different day, but today, here's something I just can't explain. I've been testing switching from Classic Outlook to New Outlook and back again, and whenever I do, different contacts show. I've even taken desktop Outlook out of the equation....the oddity happens on Outlook on the Web too. Here's a a screenshot from Outlook on the web of my testing account contacts with "New Contacts" turned OFF -
Now if I simply turn "New Contacts" ON, I see this -
When I use the desktop versions, same results....Classic Outlook for Windows shows 2 contacts, New Outlook shows a whole bunch more. Using Powershell/Graph API to list all contacts yields only the 2 contacts shown in Classic. None of the contacts appear in the "Categories", that's just a leftover from my testing.
So, where else, how else could these mystery contacts be stored only on the New Contacts and not visible to the PS/Graph API?
Thanks in advance for any potential insight!

New Outlook contacts is not completely finished yet. I think that 2nd folder "contacts" (under folder)in your first graphic might have your contacts. You didn't show that folder. I think they might be in there, but Outlook Classic can hide contacts too in a folder view but should show up in the contacts either way.
I don't think I'm clear on the question, what number of contacts are on your server?

Thanks so much for your reply Lisa. The folder you mentioned does not contain the contacts...here's the screenshot of that -
My question is why do I see those additional contacts with the "New Contacts" that aren't showing in classic. Even using the powershell/graph API to list all contacts and all contacts folder directly from the Exchange account yields the two contacts shown in classic, and no contacts folders, so I'm still baffled as to where those contacts seen in "New Contacts" are being pulled from.
