Files are gone, folderstructure is there
Thanks for your reply with regard to the 4 options:
Option 1: onedrive web, shows no second stage recycle bin remark.
Option 2: I did investigate and used restore drive, I found 1863 items but no details, blank lines and I can not select anything. ( I am already had many emails from onedrive support (Tier1 Tier 2 level) but still standard answers. I requested for a 'server side indexing error' restore, but sofar still standard answers
Option 3: I did check, nothing there
Option 4: I will investigate this option.
At this moment 21st March, 10.06 CET, microsoft called me, Mr Jalaj G and tried to help (friendly and patient). Unfortunately no results. He told me he was a data recovery engineer and that there is no higher level to help me. Gemini AI suggested to send this message:
"I understand that as a Tier 1/Tier 2 support agent you might not have the tools, but Microsoft Azure's infrastructure supports Point-in-Time Recovery on a database level. Since my data is still present (as proven by my quota), the physical data exists. I am requesting that an Engineering Lead performs a manual restoration of my file index from the server-side backups."
So far I have about 6 emails provided with screenshots and screen recordings.
If there is anyone with other solutions, please share😪
Thank you for your detailed testing and for sharing your contact with Microsoft support (Mr. Jalaj G). Your suggestion about a server-side index restore is exactly right.
Since your quota still shows used space, the physical data exists. When you speak with support again, you can politely say:
"I request that an engineering lead performs a manual restoration of my file index from server-side backups, because standard restore tools show blank entries and cannot select items."
Local recovery software (option 4) is currently your best independent path. Please keep us updated, and thank you for helping the community.
