Shared folders not synchronising locally
There is a known issue by which users on OneDrive V1 are finding that folders shared with them are not synchronising on their local machines. This will continue until those users are migrated to OneDrive V2. How can I prompt that migration to happen immediately. The work arounds are difficult, with file versions getting out of step and data being lost.
Does OneDrive Photos have face grouping like Google Photos?
Hi everyone! I've been using OneDrive Photos for a while and I was wondering if there's any feature that groups photos by face, similar to what Google Photos offers. In Google Photos, I can see all the pictures of a specific person automatically grouped by their face. Is there a way to do the same in OneDrive, or is this feature planned for future updates? Issue with accessing personal vault on OneDrive app post restart
When I opened my onedrive mobile app today the app pushed a message saying that a restart was required. I restarted the app and it told me to set up my personal vault. I've been using my personal vault for several years now so no set up was required. When I logged into my personal vault, all of the files within it were missing. They're available on the online version of onedrive but not in the app version. There's nothing in the recycling bin and there's no recent activity to suggest mass movement/deletion of files. I've restarted the app multiple times, tried with and without wifi, and have tried on different devices - all are showing an empty vault. Has anyone had this problem? Is this a syncing issue or a bug with the new app?OneDrive Context Menu Missing on Windows 11
OneDrive Context menu missing Hi guys, I’m having some issues regarding OneDrive and it’s Context Menu not being present on files. Environment: Windows 11 23H2, Intune managed OneDrive Build: 25.005.0112.30003 (64-bit) Affected users: all I tried all the fixes I could find on the Internet, but none have helped. Devices don’t have issues with synchronization, they only have an issue with the Context Menu missing. I can only see Always Keep on this Device and Free Up Space. Even if I press Show More Options, only the same only two previously mentioned appear. Is there anything else which I could have missed? Does anyone know of how I can improve my OneDrive download speeds? I cannot get my computer to download from OneDrive faster than 3.5-4.7Mbps. I've ensured my OneDrive settings do NOT limit my downloads I went so far as to plug my computer directly into my modem; even with 350Mpbs download and 650Mbps upload - still limited to really sub-4.0Mbps download speed from OneDrive. The issue of having the 'shared folder turned into an internet shortcut' was solved for me a week ago. as both of the accounts are migrated on new OneDrive (V2) but I'm facing another issue even after migrated to the v2. The problem is, In Windows OneDrive SYNC client, from its settings/account/choose folder, the 'shared folder' is not showing over there. Therefore, I can't choose which folder/file to sync (selective sync that's called), and all the other unnecessary folders into that shared folder, which I don't need or require, are being synced and downloaded on daily basis, eating my bandwidth as well as storage space. I mailed this issue to MSFT but they didn't respond with anything conclusive, except asking to uninstall/reinstall/reset OneDrive, which I already did everything, so posting it here. has anyone else faced or experiecning this same issue? Hi When using OneDrive on MacOS I can't search my OneDrive files in Spotlight, making file access more cumbersome. I tried to edit the Spotlight search settings, but I don't see my OneDrive folder there. I checekd the SpotLight settings under preferences - and the "Folders" and "Documents" options are both set. Is this a OneDrive Limitation ? Environment: MacBook Pro (Intel), Ventura 13.6.6
How to download a file from onedrive that is marked as virus-infected?
I have a source file that is (I believe erroneously) marked as virus-infected. OneDrive does not allow me to download it. I have even renamed it to a .txt extension, but it still refuses any download. If I try the "open in text editor" option it gives me the following error: To protect your pc and other files we've removed open share and other commands. Contact your admin for options or learn more The learn more link is really not that helpful. As a personal OneDrive user I don't really have an admin to turn to. Google searching tells me the way to download the file is to use PowerShell Get-SPOMalwareFileContent. However, that command is only accessible to SharePoint admins. But I'm only a consumer personal OneDrive user. What I see is that the site seems to indicate that I should be able to download the file regardless of all warnings, but none of the download options and buttons do anything. Why can I not see the 'People' section in Photos on the OneDrive app that is depicted in the following Microsoft support topic titled 'Group photos by people'. The purpose is to enable users to find photos that have particular people in them. Great feature, just can't find it in my OneDrive apps on either my Business or Personal Microsoft 365 services?
