NikolinoDE has provided a very detailed and excellent answer. I would just like to add my support to this point: OneDrive for Business is intended primarily for individual users and their personal work files.
For team collaboration and shared document management, I would recommend using Microsoft Teams. When a Team is created, Microsoft automatically provisions a SharePoint site in the background, and all files shared within Teams are stored in the associated SharePoint document library.
In short:
- OneDrive = Personal files ("My files").
- Teams/SharePoint = Shared team files ("Our files").
