OneDrive stuck on "Processing 7 changes" for weeks. Can't identify what the 7 files are.
“Processing 7 changes” doesn’t necessarily mean seven identifiable files are stuck uploading. It can include pending sync operations, so you may not find seven files with spinning arrows.
To check without opening every folder, open your OneDrive folder in File Explorer and search for *. Switch to Details view, enable the Status column, and sort by it. This can help bring files marked “Sync pending” together, although it won’t reveal OneDrive’s internal processing queue. Also check the OneDrive cloud icon for any listed sync problems.
Since new files sync normally and this started after the upgrade/reinstall, resetting OneDrive’s local sync state is a reasonable next step. You don’t need to keep deleting files.
Press Win + R and run:
%localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\OneDrive.exe /reset
If Windows cannot find it, try:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft OneDrive\OneDrive.exe /reset
Open OneDrive from Start if it doesn’t restart automatically. Resetting doesn’t delete your files, but OneDrive will check them all again, so allow time for that to finish. If you previously selected only certain folders to sync, you may need to select them again.
Before resetting, copy any files you know haven’t synced to a separate folder outside OneDrive. Avoid deleting more files just to reduce the counter—those deletions can also sync to the cloud.
