Forgive me if it has been posted before, I did look around but didn't see anything, but is there going to be a OneDrive Files on Demand for Mac users?

Where can I see, when a new insider version is available?

This minor update is not related to the version of OneDrive..
- Uwe MeyerOct 31, 2018Copper ContributorMy Mac is now updated from Mojave 10.14 to 10.14.1 --> Should I retry installing OneDrive client or is this update not related to OneDrive?

I run the 2 commands
I deleted everything regarding OneDrive with App-Cleaner-Pro
I installed OneDrive
During setup, Onedrive informed me, that know "Files on demand" is available (a screen with 3 scenarios/options)
I finished the installation
I start OneDrive and login
OneDrive starts synchronization of all files/folders
Files-on-demand is available and by default active
I go to setting and disable the sync of all folders
After around 5 minutes, Onedrive shows errors, folders are already exists on my Mac
I delete the folders under my Onedrive
After this, I can again select folders to sync, this works, but no files-on-demand shown in my Onedrive-Folder

Did you run the commands I mentioned? Are you sure the script actually ran?
Do you see the options in OneDrive Preferences to "Turn On Files-On-Demand"
- Uwe MeyerOct 30, 2018Copper ContributorHi Aaron,
I chosed way 2 - remove OneDrive with App Cleaner Pro. After this, start installation, Login to Onedrive, and Onedrive starts immedialty with sync of all folders. It doesn't work on my Mac, maybe I need to wait of new version, this one looks from my side of view buggy ... - Jeffrey AllenOct 30, 2018Silver Contributor
After a reset of the MacBook and a second try of downloading again the ODfB preview, I installed and it seems that the client is working and not downloading all the files but with each reboot to relaunch the ODfB so that it shows the downloaded or cloud files is annoying but at least it seems to work.

Then follow the step-by-step carefully and in order.
If the Script doesn't run for you then open the Terminal app and paste the following commands 1-by-1:
Defaults write com.microsoft.OneDriveUpdater Tier Insiders
killall cfprefsd
rm ~/Library/Caches/OneDrive/UpdateRingSettings.json
Finder may need to be Relaunched
- Uwe MeyerOct 30, 2018Copper ContributorThe question, to be honest, I don't understand? Which popup?
- Uwe MeyerOct 30, 2018Copper ContributorNO!

I had to block our AV (Bitdefender) and backup service (Code42) but after that files on demand seems to be working well.
Is there a way to proactively block an app or do you just have to wait for the popup?

Do you have Antivirus software on your Mac?
- Uwe MeyerOct 30, 2018Copper ContributorHi Adam,
I deleted the OneDrive Folder under my user name. Also I deleted the complete OneDrive Folder in the cache (not only the json file). I installed OneDrive, first everything looks good, but after finishing the installation, OneDrive starts to download all files/folder. I deactivate all folders, so now I have an EMPTY OneDrive Folder on my drive, and files-on-demand is activated, but did not work. - Jurgen ValksOct 30, 2018Copper Contributor
I can recommend AppCleaner, mentioned in this article: https://nektony.com/how-to/uninstall-onedrive-on-mac
Reboot your Mac after removing the files..

No OneDrive Folder under my account, see screenshot attached
Is the version correct I mentioned?
- Uwe MeyerOct 30, 2018Copper ContributorBefore installation, I deleted the folder under my user account

Sorry if Im repetitive, but have you done this?
Remove the locally stored OneDrive folder:
- If you installed with the default settings, there will be the OneDrive folder under your name.
- Drag it to the trash.
- Oct 30, 2018
yes, it seems the folder is still there
- Jurgen ValksOct 30, 2018Copper Contributor
@Uwe Did you remove the old OneDrive folder? Since you have synchronisation problems saying the folder already exists...
- Uwe MeyerOct 30, 2018Copper ContributorThis is did already ...
Is the version number correct? - Oct 30, 2018I would uninstall, remove the content and redo

Sorry guys, it doesn't work on my Mac running Mojave 10.14
- I disconnected my account in OneDrive
- I removed my current OneDrive installation (no OneDrive folder visible in Finder)
- I run the script for insider update ring
- I deleteted the json file
- I downloaded OneDrive from https://aka.ms/MacFilesOnDemandBinary
- I installed this version
- During setup, OneDrive informed me, that my folder already exist (where???)
- I chosed the default folder
- OneDrive start with downloading all files from OneDrive Cloud
- I deactivate all folders in OneDrive Client
- Result is, that OneDrive now a 9 problems, informing me, that folders already exists in the OneDrive on my harddisc
- Version info: 18.192.0920.0012
Any idea?
