Issue with OneDrive

Hello

Please i need your help on this issue.

We have Issue with One drive.

On Onedrive.live.com it takes me automatically to the personal profile.

It difficult to share and use files. i had to click reopen to access onedrive.live.com.

I need my OneDrive files to be all in one place.

This was not a problem before. I cannot have the app only show my work profile and the website only personal profile.

    This happens a lot when OneDrive Personal and OneDrive for Business accounts get mixed up (since they both use Microsoft logins but different backends).

    Here’s how you can fix it so you consistently get into your work/Business OneDrive:

    First of all, why it happens?

    OneDrive Personal = tied to outlook.com, hotmail.com, etc., always opens on onedrive.live.com.

    OneDrive for Business = tied to your organization (yourcompany.com), uses Microsoft 365 / SharePoint backend (URLs look like yourtenant-my.sharepoint.com).

    If you’re signed into both on the same browser, Microsoft prioritizes the personal account on onedrive.live.com.

     

    Steps to Fix

    Web (Browser)

    Go to https://onedrive.com.

    Sign out of all accounts (click your profile picture and Sign out).

    Clear cookies for microsoft.com and live.com (or use a private/incognito window).

    Sign in again with your work account (yourcompany.com).

    You’ll now be redirected to your OneDrive for Business site (…-my.sharepoint.com).

    Bookmark that link — that is the “real” OneDrive Business URL, not onedrive.live.com.

    Desktop App (Windows)

    Right-click the OneDrive cloud icon in the taskbar.

    Go to Settings → Accounts.

    Remove the personal account if you don’t want it there.

    Make sure only your Work or School account is added.

    • You can have both, but if you want just business, remove the personal one.

     

    If you still want both accounts:

    Use different browsers/profiles (e.g. Chrome Work Profile for Business, Edge for Personal).

    Or use Incognito/Private Mode for personal, and main browser for business.
