Have 1TB available but OneDrive wont upload and says "Not enough cloud storage"
I bought Office365 today and I have only 3gb on my account used out of over 1TB of space however when I try to sync it just says "Not enough cloud storage" "you don't have enough space for this file".
This is very frustrating. I check my settings, I emptied my trash, I re-linked the account. None of it worked. I went through the Troubleshooting machine and did all the steps and nothing helped. I did get an error saying one drive could not be restarted.
Anybody have any suggestions? Very frustrating to spend money and have this happen.

Same problem in 2025 still, and I've NEVER had this issue with Google Drive. I even cleared my entire Recycle Bin, but it still doesn't work. Still says my OneDrive is full when it's practically empty now.
OneDrive is a joke of a cluster F.
And it's not even a PC or Computer and OneDrive syncing issue, my computer isn't even linked to my OneDrive!

Sometimes, the OneDrive cache can become corrupted, which can cause syncing issues. Clearing the cache might help:
- Open the Run dialog (Windows key + R) and type %localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset.
- Press Enter. This will reset OneDrive and clear its cache. After a few minutes, OneDrive will automatically restart.
- If OneDrive does not automatically restart, you can manually launch it from the Start menu.
Hope this information could help you a little with your plans.

It sounds like your OneDrive storage is not syncing correctly with your subscription, and your PC still thinks you have only 5GB instead of 1TB. Since you've already tried resetting OneDrive (is that correct?), let's focus on other possible issues:
1. Check If Your OneDrive Plan Is Correctly Applied
Even though you just subscribed, sometimes Microsoft takes time to update storage limits.
- Go to OneDrive Storage and confirm it shows 1TB (not 5GB).
- If it still says 5GB, your Office 365 subscription may not be activated correctly. Try signing out and back in.
2. Force OneDrive to Recognize the New Storage
Since your PC still thinks you have only 5GB, try forcing an update:
- Sign out of OneDrive completely from your PC.
- Unlink your OneDrive account from Settings > Account > Unlink this PC.
- Restart your computer and then sign back into OneDrive.
- Check if OneDrive now recognizes 1TB.
3. Check for Multiple Accounts
Are you sure you’re using the same Microsoft account on both your PC and OneDrive website?
- Go to OneDrive settings on your PC and check the email address.
- Compare it with the email on OneDrive Web (https://onedrive.live.com/login).
Sometimes, users mistakenly log into a free OneDrive account (5GB limit) instead of their Office 365 account (1TB limit).
4. Try the OneDrive Troubleshooter
Microsoft has a built-in tool to detect and fix OneDrive issues.
- Download the OneDrive Troubleshooter from Microsoft.
- Run it and check if it detects incorrect storage limits.
