A recent change to OneDrive is BLOCKING me from accessing my Quicken data!!!

Last weekend I suddenly was no longer able to access anything in my Quicken account. Furthermore, I could no longer log into Quicken's community forum!

 

But without a doubt the worst thing is no longer able to access to access my Quicken data at all!! I store my Quicken data in my OneDrive. (I am using Microsoft 365 for Families Edition. Through a lot of work, I've asked Quicken for help with this. They inform me that this is caused to a recent update to OneDrive. Why in heck would you cause a mess like this to block users from accessing their financial data???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

  • If you search Quicken's support site you will find they do not recommend storing your primary data file in a cloud service like OneDrive and explain how to move it from the Documents folder to a local folder on your computer. If you have one available you can restore from a recent backup to a local folder on your computer and continue working from the new file. Rod-F

      I do have the backups from the normal operation of backing up.

      What you say is odd, though, because Intuit/Quicken always offer using Dropbox. At least to my way of thinking why would they, at the same time, both recommend using Dropbox and not recommend using any cloud storage? That doesn't make any sense to me.

    You haven't contacted Microsoft, only a community forum. To access your Quicken file just download from oneDrive online in a browser. Chances are that Quicken are doing multi-file tricks that don't play well with online platforms.

    You should also backup your files. Cloud sync platforms do not replace long term cycled backups.
