Wrong mfa triggers when try to login with guest account in MS Teams client
- Feb 20, 2024
Hi mohammad_Tayib,
can you try to do the following (do this while the New Microsoft Teams are running):
Open every single location with Windows Start + R (Run) and delete everything in the location:%LocalAppData%\Packages\MSTeams_8wekyb3d8bbwe
%LocalAppData%\Packages\Microsoft.AAD.BrokerPlugin_cw5n1h2txyewy
%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\OneAuth
%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\TokenBroker
%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\IdentityCache
This should remove all active logged in users in your Microsoft Teams Client. Then, log out from the Microsoft Teams and sign-in with the "main" user you are using.
After you sign-in, click on Add another account and add your guest account and check if the issue still exists.
Thank you for providing the information. I am using Mac OS, Could you please advised me how to remove these files in Mac.
Thank you.
Hi mohammad_Tayib,
thanks for the update.
I can't provide you the instructions how to remove all users from Microsoft Teams, but you can try to clear the cache:
If Teams is still running, right-click the Teams icon in the dock, and then select Quit or press Command (⌘)-Q.
Open Terminal. You can do this by pressing Command + Space and typing Terminal.
Enter the following commands in Terminal, pressing Return after each command:
rm -rf ~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.com.microsoft.teams
rm -rf ~/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.teams2
4. Restart Teams.
Let me know if it helped.
