Volume fircibly adjusted on each call start

I'm having exactly the same problem on Sep 21 2023! The overall Windows volume for my earphones is good at 2 %. I've left all applications in the volume mixer at 100 % as default. When connecting to a Teams meeting or opening device settings during a meeting, the volume increases to 20 % which is way too loud and I have to quickly turn it down.
I figure the idea behind increasing the volume is to reduce cases where people wouldn't hear anything because of having their volume set too low but this is a wrong way of solving that issue. The least Microsoft should do is to add a setting in Teams to disable this behavior.

I am using a headphone set over USB. And this issue is physically painful. I've tried all of the suggestions in this thread but to no avail. Microsoft, please fix this issue NOW!
- I'm having the issue as well. I use a usb based headset that I have the volume set to 10% and it jumps to 20% whenever I accept a teams call. Weirdly, this only occurs on my work laptop rather than my home desktop. I've tried messing with all the settings people have mentioned and it doesn't seem to do anything or fix the issue.
Same issue - forces 20% volume when my normal is 6. Only started a few months ago for me when Teams would default to "new teams". Turning off "new teams" fixed it until today. Now even with "new teams" off it still forces 20%. None of the config suggestions in this thread helped for me.
