Volume fircibly adjusted on each call start

Piling on with everyone else here... June 2023 and I'm now getting to "enjoy" this issue for the first time! I've previously used a USB headset for Teams calls, but today I decided to try listening to music between calls with my bluetooth earbuds (fairly cheap Skullcandy buds, in case that matters). Tried adjusting the app volume in system settings, but at the start of a new call it automatically resets to 100; also tried adjusting device volume within the Teams call, but again, it resets to the (way too loud) default with every call. I'm sure I can dig deeper into my sound preferences and settings and maybe find a solution, or try updating drivers. However, the fact that it takes this much effort on the consumer's behalf, despite this being a known issue for four years now, is ridiculous. Especially considering that this is putting peoples' hearing at risk.
