Updated Outlook Groups - Are Teams Aotomatically Updates?
- Apr 26, 2020
Outlook contacts and Teams contacts don't play nice together. Take a look at this other thread which discusses this in detail. Seems like many people have been having this issue for some time,
PeterRising All right, maybe some progress. Nothing has automatically ported from the amended Outlook Group into Teams. However, I noticed that you added Gates by typing his email address rather than his Contact Name. So, i went back and looked at the specific email addresses I used to add them into the Outlook Group, and then typed that email address into the Teams add function (rather than the Contact Name), and that worked. As I said, Contacts synchronization between Outlook and Teams is not seamless and easy. I will have to duplicate in Teams every addition I make to an Outlook Group, unless I am missing something.

PeterRising Thanks very much. Yes, this is the same issue. I never used SFB, but I have used Outlook exchange for years and was an early adopter of O365. Looks like Teams was designed for big companies (three lifetimes ago for me) where everyone is on the same domain, and third-party guests are the exception to the rule. That was the market Zoom saw and now dominates, and that program syncs perfectly with everyone's contacts on all platforms. I'll play with this a bit more, but it will be very hard for non-techy clients to buy into something so buggy regardless of the security and file exchange benefits.
