Test call option not showing up in Teams?

I had the same issue, which is how I found this forum.
You will not see the make Test Call Option depending on what sort of account you have with MS Teams (i.e., Home, School, Business etc.).
I checked that my version of the app was uptodate, but I still wasn't seeing the option (whilst signed in with my home account). I signed in with my business account and I see the issue is fixed.

What an absolutely confounding decision from MS: let's remove the one thing every chat app needs and which is the cause of like 99% of problems with chat apps - incorrectly set up devices and settings.

This is almost trolling on their part.

  Spent half an hour messing around in teams and various search and copilot suggestions. Finally ran into this and see the real answer: You cannot call from a personal 365 version of teams. Skype is fully offline now, looks like my business Skype credits are useless.
