Teams Meeting Expiration _ what does this mean?
Sorry if a stupid question, but what happens when a Teams meeting expires?
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/limits-specifications-teams
"Regular meetings expire after 60 days."
Does this mean everything to do with the meeting goes
- chat
- meeting notes (though thought this is stored in one drive of one user)
- etc etc?
From a SFB perspective, while there isn't chat, it would mean all content would go etc and users would no longer be able to join the meeting. So checking if this is the same for Teams.
Thanks

- GrahamBellCopper ContributorWe have found that the dial up telephone numbers expire after 60 days, this is problematic as we setup meeting 6 months in advance to book our Distributors well ahead of time, some need to dialup due to network issues. So we have to cancel the meeting and re-create a new one closer to the meeting time, causing major calendar and administration disruptions. Teams should allow you to select an expiration period, similar to emails! Sometimes I wonder which “kids” are doing the programming here as they seems to be missing real world scenarios and use case!!’

GrahamBell This is our situation as well. The URL still works to join the meeting online but anyone who tries to dial into the audio conference line gets an error message stating “Sorry I can't find a meeting with that number, try entering your conference # again"
- Yes, same for Teams! Everything Will stay

Hi adam deltinger and others, asking this the other way around...
Can we force a meeting hyperlink to expire? We want to use this method to launch a school assembly with a whole year group (so more students than a single class team). However, we don't want the kids to be able to re-enter this meeting at any point after it has ended, for safeguarding reasons.
Does anyone know if we can force this meeting to expire after it is finished?
Thanks in advance.
