Team Calls - screen layout
Hi, one of our members seems to have changed the layout of her Teams Call screen and we cannot figure out how to change it back to the default. This is her current screen
This is how our screen is usually presented.
Can anyone help with returning it to our default layout?
Thanks.

- NaseebmzCopper ContributorI agree the new layout is very poor. Please return the old layout.

C'mon Microsoft.... did you even consider this layout change before implementing it? This thread along with equally upset users on other websites really, Really, REALLY don't like this change. FIX IT NOW before Zoom becomes the world standard and there is no going back!!!

Microsoft
Hello Phil_Seretti and all others: The calling team has heard you, is working on this, and is preparing a feedback form to post in this thread to get further input from you. Please stay tuned to this discussion for that survey.

ThereseSolimeno While I appreciate the response, a feedback form is taking time away from fixing the problem - the current design is decreasing productivity and causing frustration. Folks here have been very clear on their thoughts. Either revert to the old design or give us the option to choose the new vs. old design. In the future, maybe think about a feedback form prior to making a major change.
- ahaak89Copper ContributorAnother thing - the update has been pushed out seemingly randomly. I'm in the public preview and I haven't got it, but a large amount of my users have. We're on the same version.
- Dave_ShermanBrass ContributorAnd here's another thing ...
Since the release of the "improved" UI, I now find my call history on my laptop and the call history on my mobile don't come close to showing the same events!
Mobile is listing calls I know I made, but the laptop denies they exist.
Seems it's not just look-and-feel that MSFT have screwed around with - now the DATA is unreliable as well.
Sort of begs the questions: Do MSFT know what they're doing? And MS Teams, can you trust it? - ahaak89Copper Contributor
The design decisions here seem to be taken from the perspective of a normal tech-focused user and not the majority of the new userbase - i.e. professional workers.
I took a survey at my firm to see what people's main complaints were - 90% said the speed dial functionality. Either add it to another tab or remove it entirely, because how it is now is basically pointless.
I am extremely confused as to why Speed Dial was included when you can't organise it in any way. The Speed Dial cards also take up a weird amount of space considering they give absolutely no useful information. (not even the users last name!)
One of the biggest benefits of Teams is seeing users status quickly. Often, you need to see a group of people and their status very quickly. This ability has basically been removed.I understand the need to keep things standardised across platforms, but giving users _options_ is something I thought Teams was going towards with Windows notifications etc. There doesn't seem to be any options to customise this layout at all.

DS_BCC_IT I agree with the other users. This is not a good change to the layout or a good user experience. Please can we revert or have the option to revert the layout to personal preference.
Lets listen to the customers pls.

Maybe what we should take from this (which may be subliminally the message that MSFT wants us to) is that that MSFT's focus is on History (what's happened in the past) rather than what's happening now (Speed dial) ...
... next thing to go will be the diary (what's in the future) is MSFT's ethos is as it appears to be ....
(Also just noticed my content was "autosaved at 09:03 AM" - shame it's 17:03 round here right now - another failure of MSFT to act as a worldwide company and let the USA mask slip)

DS_BCC_IT I seem to be the only one in my team who's laptop has updated. I really dislike the new format. Always liked the old format, why would I be interested in history? Speed dial always reverts to the top, there's no way to move my team there.
I prefer speed dial being the largest part.
It's difficult to use, now I don't understand why we can't format it
