Skype for Business hybrid - Issues between on-premise and Teams only users
we have 2 service requests open - one on our own and a premium support case from our csp - but boy....
would be interesting to know if Alias17273 could solve his issue.

yes this would be dumb - but i dont read it that way.
If a user is moved online he/she should be TeamsOnly - which is fine.
It also makes no sense to break hybrid, but leave federation to other organizations working.Co-existence modes continue to exist after retirement of Skype for Business Online. As before, users with accounts homed in Skype for Business Server on-premises can be assigned any coexistence mode except TeamsOnly. After retirement however, users homed online can only be TeamsOnly. It is no longer possible to assign a mode other than TeamsOnly to a user that is homed online.

If they started to decomission the hybrid infrastucture without communicating it properly, I will be disappointed. I know that most of the companies who was using SfB/SfBO already migrated to Teams, but still there are companies that are using both solutions. Forcing these companies moving to Teams by breaking the hybrid connectivity... I hope this is an issue and not a by design thing.

ye found it - but if i get it right this is still supported:
After the retirement of Skype for Business Online, however, hybrid organizations can only consist of two basic types of users: - On-premises users (Who may or may not use Teams, but not in TeamsOnly mode) - Teams Only users.
but maybe they broke something inintended.
- mbalint987Nov 04, 2022Copper ContributorThere's the correct link: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/skypeforbusiness/hybrid/plan-hybrid-connectivity#implications-of-the-retirement-of-skype-for-business-online
- EduNic1800Nov 04, 2022Brass ContributorYe but:
"Microsoft fully supports hybrid organizations with a mix of TeamsOnly users and on-premises Skype for Business users."
The "Implications of Retirement of Skype for Business Online." Link is dead 😕 - mbalint987Nov 04, 2022Copper ContributorI found this article: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/skype-for-business-online-retirement
It said: "In addition, beginning in October 2022, Microsoft will begin decommissioning aspects of that infrastructure specific to hybrid organizations." Could this mean that Microsoft has started to decomission the entire SfBO infra. and that why we ran into this issue? - EduNic1800Nov 03, 2022Brass Contributor"nice" to see more people with this issue.
have you already opened a service request? maybe MS will acknowledge its not an onprem issue if more people report.
