Show Meeting Attendees in Order They Joined the Meeting

Bottom line up front: Is there a way to show meeting attendees on the "People" tab in the order they joined the meeting vs alphabetically?

Facilitating Teams meetings is a big part of my job and it's important to know when certain, usually high level, people join the call.  Usually the call can't start until a key person joins.  Let's say the important person's last name is "Wright"; currently, I have to continuously scroll down to the bottom of the list of People to see if Ms. Wright has joined the call, since her name will be at or near the bottom of the list. To add to the complications, many times the call is large, so I have to hit "See More" to be able to see the bottom of the list (and in the process not be able to allow any external attendees in the meeting).

Is there a way to sort the People list in the order they arrive to the meeting? E.g., most recent attendees get added to the top of the list vs slotted in alphabetically.

  • Unfortunately, Microsoft Teams currently lists meeting attendees alphabetically on the “People” tab, and there’s no built-in option to sort them by the order they joined. A possible workaround is to download the attendance report during or after the meeting, it includes join and leave times, so you can see exactly when each person joined. It’s not as convenient as seeing it live, but it’s the only way to get that information right now. Hopefully, Microsoft will add a sorting or filtering option in a future update, since this would make managing large or important meetings much easier.
