Notify when available feature in NEW Teams app
11/28 update: please upvote this issue here in the feedback portal: https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/idea/bd4374ec-88ff-ed11-a81c-000d3ae5b6f4
The "Notify when available" feature doesn't appear to be available yet in the NEW Teams application when the new app is supposed to have full feature parity at this point. It's a useful feature that I (and I know others) use often. Is this feature going to be developed/released for the NEW Teams or is this not going to be available?

- Ayman2070Copper ContributorAre we progressing or regressing? Why are some important features being deleted in updates?
- EbyanCopper ContributorIs there an Update on that topic?
- SLLinmanCopper ContributorAgree - please add back the "Notify when available" option!
- ketpahCopper Contributorbecause of the lack of Notify When Availabel feature, I will keep using old but better version as long as possible.
- jadermike20Brass ContributorI am so glad that this horrible feature is finally gone. What is wrong with you that you want something like that? Do you think it's cool that you get spammed with calls and messages from 20 people as soon as you are on "Available"? Hopefully this feature will never come back and everyone who asks for it should have their shirt sleeve slip down and get wet when washing their hands.

jadermike20 If you could actually block messages when busy (eg in a meeting) then it might be okay to not have notify when available.
By the way, who got that pop-up Ad from Microsoft in the new Teams apps.- W1lkoIron Contributor
You can already mute notifications during a meeting and if you want to block them you can put yourself on DnD.
Mute during a meeting:
While you're in a meeting, go to the top of the meeting window and select More actions Teams settings and more icon.> Settings > Mute notifications.
To turn them back on while in the meeting, select More actions Teams settings and more icon.> Settings > Allow notifications.

Please add back this feature! it is so useful.
- MattDNJCopper ContributorI just dragged the slide button "Try the new Teams" to no and I have it back with the old version.
This is a big one. - SPACELY33Copper Contributor
I would have thought MS would improve their products, not make them less useful. I wonder if someone lobbied for removal behind the scenes... maybe a legal thing? Is notification "stalking"? LOL
- MartyD_AMACOBrass ContributorThat ("stalking") is a very good question, although I would think the first line of response would include a company's HR and/or Safety/Security Departments.
Sadly, MS (as do other companies) leverage the process model of getting users on board with cool features, then yank them out, then return them for additional recurring revenue.- W1lkoIron Contributor
That's why I mentioned it in a previous comment - that's the reason we were given by MS for the removal - complaints of employee monitoring - but I don't know any more context.
Edit: Apologies, was on the linked thread, not this one!
- johndifiniCopper ContributorAs a workaround, if you need to get notified when someone is available, you can use the browser version - https://teams.microsoft.com.

- HScheelIron ContributorThanks for your note but that is not possible for me in the browser version. The feature is not available anywhere in the new Teams.

- johndifiniCopper ContributorToo bad there is no "Notify when available" for this feature request. 🙂
