New Teams update broke my audio setup
Hi,
The new update described here: https://www.techradar.com/news/using-a-bluetooth-headset-on-microsoft-teams-is-getting-a-lot-easier-at-last
broke my audio setup. I use my bluetooth headset just to output audio and i'm not using the mic. However Teams now puts my headset in call-mode which disables the regular audio output of my headset. I would like to be able to disable this new feature.
Kind regards,
Jelle
Spent the morning trying to fix this same problem. Pretty sure I just found it. It seems that Teams now hijacks bluetooth devices that have the "Handsfree Telephony" service installed, regardless of whether "Headset" specific drivers are disabled. To prevent this, you gotta go to Devices and Printers, then go to the properties of the bluetooth device in question, then disable that service, like so:
I hope this was helpful and fixed the problem for you as well 🙂
