Do searches on the entire C: drive for blackapps.dat, Nahimic, A-volute*, etc if you haven't already.
I actually have one of those Xonar U7 II devices sitting around somewhere unused ATM, maybe I'll check it out and see if adding it causes any issues. I do know that device will work without installing Asus's software and just using Microsoft's drivers, so if you think that's it, you can try removing Asus's stuff and just use the drivers provided with Windows. As mentioned before, you will lose the ability to level out the 7 channels in software without Sonic Studio, so this may not be acceptable.

I have the very same issue.. No blackapps.dat or anything Naimic or A-volute found on my C: drive. Switching back to old teams fixes the issue. Dell Latitude 7640 here.
