Sure,
As jcgonzalezmartin says you could use a dedicated SharePoint site and apply it as a tab.
You could also
- Package the site as an app and have it on the left app rail
- Thread your site through all the other files tabs in Teams - see here Teams Real Simple with Pictures: Accessing all of your Teams files through a single channel – @Microsoft365Pro

Thanks for the message. Though the workarounds definitely aren't too ideal. Is there a better way to use a Sharepoint for common file storage across a company with Teams on the side?
Currently thinking about creating a separate Sharepoint site just for Teams convos to keep it out of the way.
