Microsoft teams voice licencing question
Hi,
Hoping someone could clarify the licencing requirements for teams voice searching around I find different answers, mainly the call queues and auto attendants.
Users: E3+Phone System or E5
Call Queues: Phone system virtual licence or some say E3+phone system is required
Auto Attendant: Phone system virtual licence or E3+Phone system if it's using a phone #?
Lastly I'll use a redirect at final call queue if no-one answers to a shared voicemail for voicemail, would this be E3+Phone system or can I get away with just phone system virtual user as this account would not call outbound.

Hi - hope you and family are safe/healthy.
Here's a quick summary to your questions on (voice) licensing requirements:
1. Users: Min requirements are Teams/SfB + Phone System + Call Plan (MS or Direct Routing)
- Commonly this would be E1, E3, E5 or one of the M365 Business skus containing a Teams/SfB license.
2. Auto Attendants / Call Queues: min requirements are a virtual phone system (free) (for assigned resource account). No Call plan is required if the AA/CQ doesn't need to be reached via PSTN (i.e., if it's a nested AA/CQ) -- but (the resource account) will need a call plan to assign a DID.
3. AA/CQ Voicemail ---- any Office 365 group can (now) be used for this. There's no customization of the vm greeting (yet). If you need a custom greeting - you can fall back to the generic user acct req's in #1.
Hope this helps.

Hi,
For users you need E1 or E3 + Phone System license or E5 to get PSTN calling features in Teams.
For Call Queues and Auto Attendants you only need the Phones System - Virtual User license. These are included when you buy and assign Phone System licenses to users.
For that voicemail user you need E3 + Phone System or E5, your could also use E1 + Exchange Online Plan 2 + Phone System.
