Issue with online status on MS Teams

Hello, I have the free version of Microsoft Teams on my MS Surface Laptop. I have been using the App version and it has been working perfectly for the last couple of days. However, today when I sign in and I am online my status is staying as offline. I have tried changing and refreshing the status, restarting the app and browser version but nothing is working. Can someone help? Thanks!

    Might have something to due with the recent disturbances in the teams service this week. Give it a try in a while again and see if it works, otherwise let us know

    There are some performance issues with Teams services currently due to high usage, I guess this could be the problem here for you. Just wait and try again a bit later.
