Issue creating new MS Teams account

I wanted to test MS Teams.

To do so, I firstly created a new (google) email account, then went to this site. 

Clicking "Sing up for free" brought me to new site, on which I am asked to enter my email account. I enter newly created email account.

Clicking next, I am told that "This looks like a school account" and that I should sign up for Office 365 Education. Since this is not a school account (remember, it is newly created google account), this seems wrong, but I click "Sign me up", since this is the only option.

I am then redirected to https://signup.microsoft.com/signup?sku=Education, where entering same address ends with "This didn't work", since it is not a school account (See image; text in Slovenian). I have simply found no other way to create the account.

Why, oh why, does something as simple as creating a new account needs to be so complicated? I have created hundreds of accounts online and until now, not once I had problems with such basic operation.
