[infographic] Microsoft Teams Private Channels 101 - now you know every detail!
At the Microsoft Ignite 2019 in Orlando, Microsoft unveiled 'Private Channels'
Private channels enable focused private collaboration within a team. Only owners and members of a private channel can see messages, documents and other content in a private channel.
You can find the formal Microsoft announcement about Teams Private Teams at this link:
https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Microsoft-Teams-Blog/What-s-New-in-Microsoft-Teams-Ignite-2019/ba-p/937025
With the introduction there are a lot of things to share when you think of:
- Who can see private channel information
- Who can manage private channels
- Private channels creation
- Members and owners
- Site management
- Teams admin
- Information protection
- Apps in private channels, PowerShell & Graph API
I created - in cooperation with the Microsoft Team product group - an infographic what explains the most relevant information. Note: this is the information available in Teams Private Channels at launch, things can change in the next months.
Teams Private Channels will start roll-out in week 45, and should be completed at the end of november. So make sure you know all the information asap 🙂
