How to unsync tasks in different channels within the same team

I am trying to set up 'To Do' lists using the 'Tasks by Planned and To Do' app. I have a template to do list which I have copied across to multiple channels within the same Team. 

I have found that when I tick off a task in one to do list - all the other channels have the same item ticked off in their 'To Do' List also - Is there a way I can prevent this happening so I can have my to do lists operating independently in different channels within the same Team
