How do you handle rewards & recognition in MS Teams?

It really depends what you are looking for with a recognition platform. For simple recognitions and badges, the built in Praise App works like a charm. Really quick and easy to use from inside Teams chat. For more complex reward and recognition programs, I recommend using a third party solution that can help you keep track of points, build reward catalogs, etc.
So far, the best third party recognition software Ive seen for Microsoft Teams is Teamflect. We recently started using it for reviews and the recognition bit was kind of a bonus for us.
Ive also heard good things about Bonusly.

Adding one thing the accepted answer skips, since this thread still ranks for this search: the built-in Praise app vs third-party question usually comes down to whether you need points and reporting. Praise is genuinely fine if you don't. If you do, check that whatever you pick works fully inside the Teams channel rather than redirecting to a web portal — adoption drops off a cliff otherwise. (Disclosure: I build Boostr, a channel-native recognition bot, so I've watched this pattern a lot. Even if you don't use ours, make "no separate portal" a hard requirement in your eval.
