This is a very reasonable feature request. The lack of native Mute/Unmute controls in Microsoft Teams on Android Auto creates both a usability and safety issue. Drivers should be able to manage their microphone directly from the vehicle's display without needing to touch their phone.
Adding a large, persistent mute toggle during active Teams calls—along with support for compatible steering wheel controls—would improve safety, prevent accidental "hot mic" situations, and make Teams meetings much more practical while driving.
Given that hands-free operation is a core goal of Android Auto, native microphone controls for Teams would be a valuable enhancement for both productivity and road safety.
