Custom Background In MS Teams
UPDATED It looks like this is in the process of being rolled out or at least actively tested.
If you have the version with the option to select a background image, custom images can be added.
Save your image /s in the Uploads folder below
C:\Users\YOUR_USER_NAME_HERE\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Teams\Backgrounds\Uploads
Then, in teams while on a call; click the 'More Actions' (Three Dots) at the bottom, select 'Show Background Effects'
The pictures you added should show up on the right hand side of the screen with the default options from Microsoft.
Good Luck!

- celessardCopper ContributorAnyone know the size/resolution requirements for the background image. Customized backgrounds get cropped rather than stretched. If I could resize the image this would solve the problem but I need to know what those requirements would be? - JamesFraser34Copper Contributorcelessard This is from one of the Teams default backgrounds (Beach.png): 1920x1080 pixels and file size 3.57 MB. But here is a great tip for managing backgrounds: you can link the system Backgrounds folder to a virtual folder in your personal 'My Pictures' area, even if your system admin has restricted access to the AppData folders. Simply use the Command Prompt or RUN line to enter this code - or some version of it which customizes your desired personal folder (in fact, because of my admin lockouts I run it from a *.BAT file): MKLINK /j "%USERPROFILE%\My Pictures\TeamsSysBackgrounds" %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Teams\Backgrounds You will, now have a folder called 'TeamsSysBackgrounds' which shows the current content of standard background images and the subfolder 'Uploads' for your customised backgrounds. Because this is a virtual folder, any changes you make here will be automatically reflected in the original source folders - but without the system admin restrictions. Have fun with it!

- jasecurtisCopper Contributorseanwindrem Note the Backgrounds folder is not populated by default, it is only available (visible) once you have initiated a video call and opened up the "Back ground Settings". I got caught out trying to upload an image prior to opening backgrounds.
- MrboyceCopper ContributorHi I am struggling to find that folder in my system - on HP Z book....running windows 10.....no sign of appdata under users........ any advice please? to seanwindrem - Kelemvor333Iron ContributorPaste this into a Run window or File Explorer. Then go to (or create if it's not there) the uploads folder. %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Teams\Backgrounds - HIPRMCopper ContributorThanks, but as I previously mentioned, the PCs I have use 8th generation Core i5 and i7 (Kabylake) AVX2 was definitely a feature of these CPUs.

- deBrain71Copper Contributorseanwindrem is it possible to set the custon Background Image as default somewhere in the Registry or so ?
- ragtopbullCopper ContributorFor some reason the print on my added virtual background is reversed (mirrored) - is there any easy fix on Teams? - Kelemvor333Iron ContributorGenerally it's only reversed in your preview window but other people should see it properly.

- rajman007Copper ContributorThanks you so much. The internet provided the wrong folder and I was going crazy.
- MontyPyspockBrass ContributorIf you suddently don't see the Backgrounds option on a Mac, even if you previously saw the Background Blur option, it's likely because Microsoft Teams developers made an unfortunate decision to exclude any CPU that doesn't support AVX 2.0, which is a lot of slightly older CPUs. - SWDenverCopper ContributorThat's great news! Are there any kind of specifications about size, dimensions, or resolution to be most effective?
