Apps notification settings missing in Teams settings
Hi, I have the exact same issue. I have found solution that helps but is certainly not ideal! Here is the post from another forum:

Hi,
Found the solution, which seems to be documented somewhere but I could honestly not find it.
You need to ask one of your colleagues to delegate a Task in Planner on your name, then the Activity field in Teams will notify you that you have a new Activity, after this step you will be able to see the Planner Application under the Teams Notification Settings.
Such an easy solution, yet I could not find it anywhere. Frustrating!
I wish you a great day!
This works the same in Viva Engage, just post something directly mentioning the employee not seeing the settings, Teams will notify him and the settings should appear.

Thanks for responding. My testing proves otherwise, unfortunately. This only works when the app is pinned by the user, not a setup policy in Teams admin.

Myself, I have the Teams app pinned and have for months (Paid Planner and Project Plan 3 license), and this is also not working for me, Planner does not show under App Notifications in Teams.
I have had someone create a new task in our Planner and assigned it to me, and no notifications came through in Teams for being assigned to the task, I only got the email notification.
Something so basic and simple, but Microsoft wants people to jump through hoop's to get working something that should be core functionality out of the box. - ITHeroDec 23, 2025Copper Contributor
That did the trick for me. To make the notifications work for Viva Engage: tag the employee not seeing the settings in the comment section of a news item in a newspost. Teams will notify him/her, and the settings will appear. Thanks for your advice!!
