Apps no longer showing when adding a tab to a private teams channel

I've noticed an issue this week where when I try to add a tab to a private teams channel.

Previously when adding a new tab a list of apps would show up, like this as highlighted in red:

Now when performing this action the apps briefly appear at the top, but then disappear. If I switch back to old Teams, I still see the apps.

To be clear this is only happening on private channels and has only started happening this week.

Does anyone know if this has been changed on purpose or is it a bug?

  • Hi mrtumnus,

there is no documentation that the Apps in private channels are being removed, so i think this is a bug (it is a case with shared channels too).

For me the problem is for some time solved by signin out and signing in to Microsoft Teams (after the signing in I can see and add these apps to a private channel).
