How do I fully delete Form responses?
Hi,
I created a Form with associated Flow and typed in a dummy response to check it was working correctly (it was). I then wanted to delete the dummy response - I went back into the Form and selected the response (Respondent 1) and clicked on 'Delete Response'.
A genuine response then came in and I noticed that it marked it as Respondent 2. I exported the data to Excel and the first response was still there.
I can no longer see the first response when in Forms but I cannot find a way to delete it from the spreadsheet (at point of origin, rather than manually each time I export the data). Does anyone know how I can permanently remove the first response from the spreadsheet and ideally, show Respondent 2 as Respondent 1?
Many thanks,
Hannah

Hello, I struggled with this as well. I'm not 100% sure if this will help, but I came to discover that if you open the file in excel and navigate to the file in it's sharepoint location and delete it, you can recreate the whole thing again completely by clicking this:
Regardless, I believe this might be useful to others that happen upon this message. (You might want to check first with a new form you create to play around with before trying this!)
- mikebdotCopper ContributorThis will NOT address the issue of Respondent ID assignment (so not "ideal"...but I do what I can...I'm sure there is a way to do that with full admin rights, but I ain't got those - just a plebian)

HUnderhill if you go to the Responses screen and click the 3 dots down to the bottom right of the Status field you can delete all your test responses there which also deletes them from the underlying spreadsheet.

HiRobElliott ,
Thanks for your response. Unfortunately I don't want to delete all of the responses, just the first one. The subsequent ones are legitimate customer responses that we need for our records.
I don't understand why deleting one would be any different to deleting them all - strange. Any suggestions for deleting one?
Many thanks,
Hannah

HUnderhill go to View Responses, select the response you want to delete, click the 3 dots over on the right and select Delete response. That will permanently delete the response and also delete it from the underlying spreadsheet.
